Each year, English 10 and a few other classes participate in the Great World Texts program through UW-Madison. Today, our students got up early to travel to campus and present their projects on the book Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982, alongside students from around the state. One of our Whitehall projects was even selected to present at the plenary session! 🎉
They also had the incredible opportunity to hear from the author, Cho Nam-Joo, and learn about her journey to becoming an author and the inspiration behind the novel. Our students represented Whitehall with pride and are already excited about the possibility of participating again next year! 📚✨

HVAC Career Exploration was presented today to the COOP "Construction Trades" class, which includes 14 students from Arcadia, Whitehall, Independence, and Blair-Taylor.
Sampson Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. and Auer Steel & Heating Supply Company joined to give demonstrations on what a career in HVAC entails. It was a valuable opportunity for students to explore this field, learn about the skills required, and discover potential career paths in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Shoutout to our Honors Seniors who achieved a 3.66 GPA or higher: Daniel Soderberg, Eden Matejka, Aydan Semb, Broc Coburn, Carson Coburn, Khloe Bautch, Brinna Goplin, Lara Frei, and Dusty Gardner.

Congratulations to Morgan M. Back, our Class of 2025 Valedictorian, and Haili B. Sluga, our Salutatorian.

Your Story Matters 🧡🖤
Today, our students had the privilege of hearing Cory Greenwood share his impactful message, "Your Story Matters". He connected with every grade level, addressing the importance of mental health and providing real-life examples to help students who may be struggling. His words encouraged our students to embrace their stories, find strength in challenges, and support one another.
Cory reminded us that:
😁 One great big smile...
🥰 One random act of kindness...
🫶 One kind word...
✅ One decision...
💫 One nice moment...
🌎 ..That is how you change the world.
Thank you, Cory, for your honesty, energy, and inspiration!

Whitehall Middle School and High School Bands traveled to The Pablo Center at The Confluence in downtown Eau Claire on Tuesday.
They attended the UW – Eau Claire Concert Band Festival, a non-competitive event where bands perform on the RCU Theatre stage!
Each band receives written and verbal feedback from UW – Eau Claire Band Faculty, and a 30-minute clinic. All students were in the audience for other bands also participating in the event.
Our bands each performed three selections followed by a clinic experience with Dr. Phillip Ostrander. He is the Professor of Trombone and Bands at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where he conducts the Symphony Band, teaches private trombone, and trombone ensemble. Dr. Ostrander completed his doctoral studies at the Eastman School of Music.
A wonderful educational experience for all of us!
